About (Source: www.TicketWorld.com.ph)

Philippine Ballet Theatre promises to delight audiences of all ages as it ends its 29th season with the restaging of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Generations of audiences have enjoyed this perennial Christmas favorite — a charming tale of holiday adventure that follows a little girl’s journey into a fantasy world of fairies, princess, toy soldiers, and an army of mice!

In addition, Philippine Ballet Theatre is delighted to announce that Mr. Joseph Phillips, “Ballet’s Golden Boy,” will once again be performing with the company for this year’s The Nutcracker production! Joseph returns to Manila from Russia to perform the role of the Nutcracker Prince, partnering PBT’s homegrown ballerinas, Lobreza Pimentel and Regina Magbitang, who will take on the roles of Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy.

About (Source: www.malaya.com.ph)

Unlike traditional performances, “Nanta” is performed with sounds and movement instead of dialogue. It combines tradition with modern music to create a unique but familiar sound and stands out from other non-verbal performances by combining a storyline with various comical scenes in a kitchen. By adhering to its storyline, it manages to excite the audience without using any verbal scripts.

“Nanta” opens with three cooks – Ko Chang Hwan who plays Head Chef, Jeong Bo Ram who plays Hot Sauce, and Chang Kyoung Soo who plays Sexy Guy – about to start their day. As they go through the preparations of their kitchen work, The Manager, Hwang Yo Han, shows up and barrages them with menus in preparation for an unplanned wedding party! On top of this surprise, he brings his reckless troublemaker Nephew, played by Nam Dong Hoon, with him and demands the cooks to teach him how to cook.

“Nanta” became the first Asian musical to debut on Broadway in September 2003 at the New Victory Theatre in New York. Just six months after its Broadway debut, it became the first Asian musical to be staged as a regular show.

Toastmasters Meeting at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) on November 11, 2015

I’m so happy and proud of the two young men I mentored – both won in the Rookies Speech Contest held in the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) in Mariveles, Bataan last Saturday (November 7, 2015). This event was organised by Managers for Christ Toastmasters Club & I’m glad they allowed me to join them =)

SAM_9396

Ernest Tartado won 3rd place in the impromptu speaking contest. The topic tackled was: “I can is better than IQ.”

SAM_9378 SAM_9385

Dwight Seth Lumanta won 3rd place for the prepared speech category. His speech was about his grandfather, and sharing his big lesson of how we should love the people dear to us while we still can, while they are still there =)

SAM_9382 SAM_9391

Indeed, it’s such a joy to help others shine =)

Be mentored and eventually become a mentor. Be guided in your public speaking journey when you join us. Once your confidence builds up and you become a better speaker, you can choose to give back, and in turn, be a guide to others =)

Join us at our next Toastmasters meeting…
Asian Institute of Management (AIM)
Paseo de Roxas, Makati City (entrance in front of Greenbelt 1)
November 11, 2015 (Wednesday)
7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Toastmasters is an organization helping you develop your public speaking and leadership skills. We meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at AIM.

We can also organise a speech workshop for your organisation or company, like what we did here for the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), a school committed to producing excellent seafarers. The MAAP administration wants their students to become better communicators and leaders in their field.

If you’re attending or would like more info about the speech workshops we conduct, please get in touch with me: Mobile +63908-3768088.

See you! Please feel free to bring your family and friends to our meeting =)
